On August 13, 2023, the RoboMaster2023 Super Match of the 22nd National Student Robotics Competition was successfully concluded in Shenzhen. More than 3,000 participants from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, National University of Defense Technology and many other colleges and universities across the country competed fiercely on the stage of the National Competition, and finally, the Wooden Iris team of our university successfully made it out of the group stage and entered the top sixteen. This is another self-breakthrough of the team in 2023 following the champion and runner-up of the college league tournament and the regional season champion, and it is also a new record after the national second prize in the 2021 season, which is another new historical record.
The road to success was not always smooth. Affected by the epidemic, the team's new and old team members alternation, technology inheritance iteration, research and development funds are insufficient for the team have been greatly affected. But the positive, never give up the small wooden kites in the guidance and leadership of the veteran team members to actively prepare for the competition, give up all the rest time, use all the after-school, vacation time to race against the clock to train, improve technology, debugging machines, fully demonstrated the school students on the pursuit of technical excellence and never give up, tenacious and tenacious spirit of hard work.
During the competition, the whole team made concerted efforts to debug the machine around the clock and under the stars. Participating teachers and students disregarded 19 hours of green train travel, a hotel to start a variety of military inspection, debugging; in order to save travel, the team's eight girls brought their own sleeping bags crowded in a 2-bedroom bunk; in order to make the machine performance as soon as possible to adapt to the parameters of the site, the captain late at night to take everyone to the Friends of the school

RoboMaster Super Match, initiated by Shenzhen DJI, is one of the events under the National University Robotics Competition. The competition integrates "mechanical design", "embedded system design", "machine vision", "human-computer interaction" and "artificial intelligence". "Artificial Intelligence" and many other robotics-related technical disciplines, each game 7 minutes, red and blue teams using hero robot, sentry robot, infantry robot, engineering robot, air robot, darts, radar multi-task, difficult mecha battle, test the comprehensive technology and stability of the various types of robots. The tournament also combines the presentation of e-sports with robotics competition, bringing visual and innovative impacts to the technology enthusiasts and the public.RoboMaster has become one of the most influential international robotics tournaments by virtue of the subversion of the traditional competition methods, shocking audio-visual impacts, and fierce and tough competitive styles.
From August 6th to August 13th, RoboMaster 2023 Super Match - National Match was held in Shenzhen Bay Sports Center "Spring Cocoon" Stadium as scheduled. In this season, 4 teams from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan & Overseas returned, and a total of 301 teams won the National Tournament through a series of events such as the College League Tournament, Super Match - Regional Tournament, etc. Nearly 50 teams participated in the Resurrection Tournament. Nearly 50 teams participated in the resurrection and group round-robin matches, and after the elimination rounds, semi-finals and finals, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Jiao Long Battle Team won the national championship, while Northeastern University TDT Battle Team, South China University of Technology South China Tigers Battle Team, South China Agricultural University Taurus Battle Team won the second, third, and third runner-ups, respectively. Thus, this annual robotics competition and academic exchange feast officially came to an end.
This season, the upgrading of many elements, such as the autonomous operation of sentinel robots, the difficulty of engineering robots to exchange ore and the number of hit rings of energy organs, greatly improved the technical, confrontational and ornamental nature of the event. Many teams continue to iterate and innovate during the R&D process. For example, in the "Human-Machine Interaction" section, the Wood Kite Birdiebot team is trying to develop and apply the latest customized controllers to gradually realize the effect of human-machine operation.
Although there is a breakthrough in the results, but the second time standing on the platform of the national competition, in the competition with other teams, the team members are also fully aware of the gap between themselves and the strong team, once again feel the Iris team in the robot technology innovation and stability, teamwork and cooperation and tactical organization of the application of the many aspects of the gap between the 985, 211, double first-class schools.
